About Me
- Name: m
- Location: United States
I'm somewhere in my early 40s. I ran a half marathon when I was 40 in under 2 hours (1:58.04) I've discovered that I like shooting shot guns and hitting little orange clay things. I have a potty mouth. I have a husband who loves me and three children who will tell you I'm the best mom in the world. They will tell me I'm the meanest mom in the world on occasion. I take this as I'm doing a terrific job.

Ha!
"So far they seem to like it and the friendships they have found."
I think that's the most important part! I also think it's great that they can be "not good" at something, come in last, and still enjoy it. If we could all learn to enjoy being last at some things, then how great would that be?
I can also relate to your dilemma about how to teach and coach the kids. It's not easy for a parent to do and it requires some tact that not many of us have. I think that's why we have coaches, and parents are not always the best coach.
Hang in there. I struggle with it, too, especially with my oldest daughter. The only suggestion I can give is to think about what you want to correct and then think real hard about HOW you will say it to them so that it comes off the right way. I know, easier said than done. I'm going to practice this today w/ my oldest on her bike.
Hope you have a better hair day today!
