Childhood fun!

I told the kids it was raining hard outside.

Then I told them there was a river in our side yard.

They decided to make an organic slip n slide

QUICKie

Ran today for the first time in a LOOOOONG time. A slightly hilly route. Ran for about 25 minutes with one long sprint and a couple of walks (for the sake of the dog).

Right now I have eight (8) children at my house. I have a swim meet in less than 3 hours. One child was suppose to be picked up at 2pm. Last time I saw that child's father he was loading a motorcyle onto the back of his truck. Don't even get me started.

It is still raining here. I don't think it will ever end.

Ha. This past winter a neighbor child told my daughter swimming wasn't a real sport, blah, blah, blah . This child (we will call her H) beat her last year by usually 3 seconds. H is a "super" athlete. H is a great soccer player, very fast runner, whatever sport she is in she excels. H's mother told me last year "I feel sorry for you and Julia because H is better than her in swimming. Julia winter swims and this is H's first time on the swim team." That made me mad. Not that H could beat Julia. That a certain mother was having a pity party (a gleefull one) for me and my daughter. (side note: The mother has ISSUES! I can't even begin to describe them here. For background she is a very depressed person who is miserable at all times..though you'd never know it from meeting her) Anyhow, I digress. Last night at time trials my daughter beat H everytime. With the exception of breaststroke, in which H got DQ'd on her kick. H is very competitive. I'm sure it killed her and her mother that little julia is a better swimmer.

Tommy. Tommy hates swimming. Tommy kicked ass in his age group. Granted, he is at the top of it, but he impressed me.

David. Swam better than I thought possible. A lot of rope hanging near the end of the freestyle heat. Backstroke, well he almost drowned. I think it took him 1.55 to do a lap of backstroke.

still here

Real quick update:

I'm fat.

I started power walking with a friend. Power walking is way harder than running when friend is 3 inches taller (all in the legs)

I will be running again next week. 2x a week with the same girl I ran with last year. She is Ms. athlete. I AM looking forward to it.

My garden is obnoxious! Every neighbor I see asks me about it. The homemade compost worked wonders (pics to follow later) Currently I'm giving away lettuce, cilantro, dill and sage.

It rains to much here.

It's really, really humid.

Today is the last day of school.

Today is time trials for the swim team. It will probably rain AGAIN.

My husband is on my ass about me not looking hard enough for work. I wonder if he thinks it's weird that everyone that got laid off before, during and after me have NOT found work either? There are NO jobs out there. If there is a job I am one (1) of 500 (min) who are applying for that job. It's hard to get a job, much less an interview.

Be back soon!
