Start

Today is the start of eating right.

I debated on doing Atkins for two weeks but decided against it. I know I could drop an easy 10, but the diet makes me miserable. I enjoy foods like yogurt, oatmeal and fruit.

Exercise front. My gym (which I just joined) closes down this week (of course) I am allowed to use the outdoor pool, but I have no idea where that is. (obviously it's not where the gym is) I've been powerwalking/jogging for almost 2 weeks now. Power walking with a friend 3 inches taller than me (all in the legs) is not easy at all. This is my original running partner from 4 years ago. I used to be able to kick her ass back then. Now we are even in the jogging. She could wipe me off the floor in power walking. Granted she is at the gym everyday, has a trainer and her diet is very, very strict. So strict, that it bores me. She looks great though.

I believe diet is 80% of losing weight and exercise is the other 20%. My diet has been crap since I was laid off. Once I clear out all the junk out of my system I think I will feel 100x better. More energy and less stress for my life. I'm hoping once I drop the first 5lbs running will get much easier. Right now it feels like I'm pulling a wheelbarrow behind me. Then again, the jogging is much easier than the power walking.

That's it for day 1.

Junk sucks. Get rid of the junk. You are 100% right on diet being the key. The rest follows.
